CHORUS (2x) July 19 July ending July waiting July dreaming Hoping Spying on the people all around POST-CHORUS Loaded gun, there’s nowhere to run Oh God wait, there’s no escape VERSE 1 Trying to understand this path Losing this, gaining that Connecting all the missing dots Pressuring the ticking clock Disrupting this confining space Images lost when awake CHORUS (2x) July 19 July ending July waiting July dreaming Hoping Spying on the people all around POST-CHORUS Loaded gun there’s nowhere to run Oh God wait, there’s no escape VERSE 2 Watching strangers living maze Bitter over wasted days Tasting envy lonely grace Enticing lives I can’t escape Blinded by this fallacy Obsess over flawless Penny BRIDGE Racing backward to catch my figure Disintegrating, pieces of flesh are falling off my skin Chasing nowhere, pleasing the eyes of onlookers Before the day runs tight another ray of light OUTRO If there’s nowhere to go Then tell me I’m wrong, then tell me I’m wrong If there’s nowhere to go Tell me I’m wrong , then tell me I’m wrong

VERSE 1 Fell for the other side Under my eyes Meadow Lane passed by Did you forget to stop by? Her ocean eyes Turning to tides Ending in your sight First crush on the line CHORUS She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around Oh please, don’t love her, when I still love you (3x) VERSE 2 The more you talk the more you hide Your heartbeat died Can tell the way you lie Wish I was never right Her golden shine Blurring out lines Smoking time but can’t deny You’ve made me blind CHORUS She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around Oh please, don’t love her, when I still love you (3x) BRIDGE Look now You’ve made a Mess Now You’ve made me Reckless You’ve made a Mess Now You’ve made me Fake it CHORUS She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around She was, she is, she will I know the way it goes around Oh please, don’t love her, when I still love you (3x)

VERSE 1 Called you twice about last night Forgot my words, forgot my lies Put you on hold a second time Wasn’t my choice, wasn’t my right The light gave up on you last fight She said just look me in the eyes Mistakes were made but I was tied Taking you against my rights Trading my youth for you my vice CHORUS (2x) I’m on the edge Of the love epitome I’m a terrible liar Wishing for baby Jane I’m a stone keeper Never cheated on my game I’m the best lover My sweet Mary Jane VERSE 2 Lead me on the daily streets Smoke a bliss outta this kiss Just give me more before I leave Divine Mary I’m on my knees Thinking you know me more than she Come on down and look at me I feed on flowers at my tip My plane’s higher than your ship Climbing high peaks for you my sweet CHORUS (3x) I’m on the edge Of the love epitome I’m a terrible liar Wishing for baby Jane I’m a stone keeper Never cheated on my game I’m the best lover My sweet Mary Jane

VERSE 1 I can’t understand the simple truth It’s that love that you may wake This little part that makes me stay Another day I’d like to hate CHORUS Why did you show up? After a year and a half You’ve proven me wrong Erasing my doubts Before it ends Why did you show up? Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us VERSE 2 Try to forget and to ignore It’s coming back on the offshore You made me smile at simple things Now feeling empty just escaping CHORUS Why did you show up? After a year and a half You’ve proven me wrong Erasing my doubts Before it ends Why did you show up? Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us BRIDGE I still don’t know how it derailed Stop chasing the times we’ve failed Can’t fix two hearts that we’ve outrun So refrain the thought, we’re overdone We can’t go back to what I’ve hoped I’ve known the words more than the truth I fear my choice for what I lose What if you were the one? CHORUS Why did you show up? After a year and a half You’ve proven me wrong Erasing my doubts Before it ends Why did you show up? Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us Breaking our time Like yours is more worth it Than us

about

Montreal-based singer-songwriter Sara Sue Vallee presents her debut EP “Skin & Bones”. Composed of segments from her diaries, “Skin & Bones” carry the listener into a dreamy atmosphere filled with pop-rock hooks. Each of Sara Sue’s lyrically driven pop songs represents glimpses of significant life moments so far; exploring growth, change, circadian insecurities and destructive romantic relationships. Her songwriting is undoubtedly influenced by her background in acting and filmmaking as experienced through the imagery or her words. Having garnered years of voice memos and lyrics in notebooks, the pandemic’s steady exclusion allowed the versatile artist to delve into her collected ideas and fulfill a lifelong desire. To Sara Sue, this EP is a breath of long-winded aspiration after years of artistic devotion for cinema while it serves as a road-map towards the pursuit of true and pure desires, regardless of one’s current position. The debutante singer/musician was greatly inspired by the rawness and poetic tendencies of musical artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey, Sasha Alex Sloan, Suki Waterhouse and Gracie Abrams.
